The 2008 Salmon Festival Planning Committee invites you to take part in SALMON ART.

Call to artists, teachers, students and naturalists of all ages:
North Mountain Park's Annual Salmon Festival is an activity-based, educational family event celebrating the relationships between salmon, their environment and humans.

Before the event…
STUDENTS: Inspired by Tibetan prayer flags, regional students are again creating small panels to line our walk ways.

INDIVIDUALS: A banner exhibit of Salmon related imagery is planned in conjunction with the Festival. We invite you to create a banner for the event. All banners celebrating salmon are accepted (weather proof medium suggested). Thematic fabric panels must be suitable for hanging outdoor on an existing chain-link fence with a maximum size of 30" by 60". Delivery deadline is September 24, 2008 or call Jay at ArtNow, 541.482.9876, for more information or to arrange a pick-up.

Click Here to read important details and submit a "Catch & Release" Form
(All art submissions must be accompanied by this form).

During the event…
ArtNow and the community will create a literary sculpture sending our thoughts, hopes and wishes into the winds.
The phrase: "If fishes were wishes…" will be the theme for community members and friends to write their thoughts on paper and cloth. Shared thoughts will then be attached to an over-sized bamboo armature in the shape of a fish.
